Engineering IT (EIT)

Background

Engineering Information Technology (EIT)  was formed in July 2007. EIT has 15 staff from the legacy IT support organizations that were largely aligned with the individual departments. With the creation of EIT, support emphasis shifted from a local focus to one that is school-wide. This change presents opportunities to use IT more effectively and efficiently towards the School of Engineering mission.

EIT is committed to quality service and up-to-date technological advancements to serve the entire School of Engineering.  EIT supports student  labs and group rooms and staffed by student lab consultants. Fifteen  full-time staff members are responsible for hardware, networking, software, computing support, web-based applications, databases, experimental computing, and eLearning development.
