The best method to remove a virus, trojan or malware is to reformat your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. This method will remove all traces of the infection. Before you reformat you hard drive backup any personal data.
If you don't want to reformat your hard drive you can use tools to try and remove the infection. Using a bootable antivirus Rescue CD is considered the most effective way to remove a virus, trojan or malware because it tracks down viruses, trojans and other malware embedded tightly into your operating system when you boot Windows the normal way. Using a bootable antivirus rescue CD will increase the chances to track down virus without interference from any Windows OS services. Some of the antivirus rescue CDs are integrated with other utilities tools such as partition software, Rootkits Scanner and other system tasks.
