EIT - Undergraduate Account

Academic Account

Your new account provides you with many different benefits and opportunities to enhance and assist your educational endeavors. It is important to remember that the services provided by EIT are only to be used for educational purposes, though.

Students who graduate from the engineering school are entitled to keep their account for one year after their graduation date. Students who transfer out of the engineering school or who are not enrolled in any engineering classes at Washington University may not have access to their account upon one month past the previous semester. Acceptations would include engineering students who are working at a co-op job or studying abroad for one semester. Temporary  accounts are good for only the current semester when they are created.

These benefits and opportunities provided at no additional cost include:

Black and white printing quota (500 pages per semester)
Server storage space for class work (500 MB)
Web space for storing class work, etc.
Access to audio/visual equipment
Access to lab stations (24 hours a day/7 days a week)
Remote Terminal Access
Reference Library in the Help Desk for many applications that we support

Accounts can be opened at the EIT Help Center. Obtaining an account is a simple matter of signing an account agreement form at the EIT Help Center (Sever 214) and providing proof of SEAS enrollment/association and a photo ID. (Note: A Washington University college ID with a school code of EN, SU, or SI serves as both.)

Under normal circumstances, an account is automatically generated for all incoming SEAS students; however, occasionally students are missed and must visit the Help Center. Passwords for automatically generated accounts may be picked up in the Help Center with a photo ID.

EIT also supports several special types of accounts, which are also available at the Help Center. Because of the cost of maintaining these accounts, they can only be opened upon approval by the Help Center Manager.

Group Accounts - Allows multiple people to share files for class group projects
SQL Server Account - For using the EIT SQL Server Database Management System
Temp Account - For use during a single semester by non-engineering students who are taking engineering classes
